Editorial policyhow we research and write
We aim to give Minneapolis homeowners accurate, practical information after a fire. Here is how our pages are researched, written and kept up to date.
Sources
What our pages are based on
Factual statements rest on public, authoritative sources: the U.S. Fire Administration, the EPA, the National Fire Protection Association, the IICRC standards, the Minnesota Department of Health, the Minnesota Department of Commerce, the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota statutes and the National Weather Service. Neighborhood background comes from reference works and public records. Every page lists its sources, and numbered markers tie statements to them.
We write in our own words and compare our pages with their sources so we summarize rather than copy.
Limits
Things we never publish
- Made-up reviews, ratings or customer stories
- Statements about licences, insurance, business age, response times or guarantees
- Promises about what an insurer will pay
- Illustrations presented as photos of real jobs
- Advice meant to replace the fire department, licensed trades or your insurer
Authors
Who writes the pages
Pages are written and reviewed by the Fire Damage Restoration Minneapolis editorial team. We name individual experts only when they are real and their credentials can be checked. Guides are revisited when their sources change.
Images come from AI image generation and are labelled as illustrations.
